Michigan gas prices are about to go up, analyst warns

Gas prices are on a rise in Michigan, according to an analyst.
Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis at Boston-based GasBuddy, tweeted on Wednesday an alert that gas is rising to $2.99.
According to GasBuddy, average regular/unleaded gas price in Michigan is at $2.85 a gallon as of Wednesday afternoon. In metro Detroit, prices for gas is between $2.80 and $2.90.
At least 16 counties, five in the Upper Peninsula, are averaging $2.91 or more.
Since 2008, the highest recorded average gas price in the state was $4.27 on May 4, 2011, with the lowest average being $1.44 on Feb. 11, 2016.
